The Frankie Foundation grants to help support kids continue or start therapy if their NDIS plan budget has run out or a therapy or service is not covered by their current NDIS plan.

Families can apply for a grant of up to $1,000 to cover up to 10 therapy sessions for a child ages 2 to 12 years of age and currently on a NDIS plan or waiting plan approval.

The Frankie Foundation will award grants monthly;
Grant Applicants must have a NDIS Plan Number;
Provide service provider full contact details;
Service Providers must be a registered Australian Business and provide ABN;
Grant Application Form must be completed in full;
Service Provider must provide a tax invoice for the cost of therapy to The Frankie Foundation;
The Frankie Foundation will pay service provider directly;
No funds are directly awarded to the the NDIS participant or family members.
Therapy/service charges may vary dependent on provider.

We Care Therapy

Many children with physical or behavioural disabilities struggle to access essential therapy due to financial limitations or NDIS ineligibility. To help bridge this gap, Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT offers the We Care Therapy Grant, providing up to $2000 over 12 months to support therapy needs.

Eligible services include:
 • Physiotherapy
 • Occupational Therapy
 • Speech Therapy
 • Hydrotherapy
 • Psychology
 • Exercise Physiology
 • Assessments and reports by qualified therapist

The Steve Waugh Foundation Grant

Accepted Answer

The Foundation offers funding support for children and young adults (aged 0–25) who have a rare disease with a prevalence of at least 2 in 100,000.
Eligibility requirements:
 • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident for at least five years
 • Must hold an Australian Medicare card
 • The rare disease must be formally diagnosed by a paediatrician or medical specialist
 • Must provide written evidence of diagnosis and supporting documentation
 • The disease must be listed on ORPHANET,(https://www.orpha.net/pdfs/orphacom/cahiers/docs/GB/Prevalence_of_rare_diseases_by_alphabetical_list.pdf) or confirmed as rare by a medical specialist
 • Must have applied for government support (e.g. NDIS) with written evidence of approval or decline
 • Medical specialists include those qualified in a speciality (e.g. paediatricians); allied health professionals are not considered medical specialists
