🎉 Exciting News! Water Wombats Named a 2025 Canberra Community Chest Partner

We’re thrilled to announce that Water Wombats – Aquatic Disability Services has been selected as one of the 11 charity and community partners for the 2025 Canberra Community Chest, a feature race event with a $50,000 prize pool supporting organisations making a meaningful impact.

Held on Sunday, 23 November, this event celebrates community spirit and inclusion. As a first-time partner, WaterWombats is proud to stand alongside incredible organisations delivering vital services across Canberra.

This partnership helps us continue sponsoring places in our trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming aquatic therapy programs—especially for families facing financial hardship.

We’re deeply grateful for this opportunity and invite you to support the event and help raise awareness of our work. Together, we can make waves of change for children, adults with disability, and their caregivers.

The Water Wombats Aquatic Disability Services’ Carol Jennings said, “This is just a brilliant concept that brings the community together.”

Water Wombats is dedicated to providing inclusive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming programs that support children’s development in and out of the water.

“This support means that we can continue to sponsor places in our programs which has become increasingly harder for more families.” Jennings said.

Carol Jennings, a finalist for ACT Woman of the Year in 2025, is excited about the announcement saying, “This gives us such a great opportunity to help our community and there’s multiple layers of support.”
