Australian Conference On Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ACND)

Water Wombats is proud to announce our participation in the 2025 Australian Conference on Neurodiversity (ACND): Connecting Through Play, to be held in Launceston, Tasmania.

We are delighted that our Director, Carol Jennings, and Creative Arts Therapist, Nina Mariette, will be presenting at this national event, which brings together practitioners, researchers, and advocates committed to inclusive and play-based approaches for neurodivergent communities.

Their presentation will highlight Water Wombats’ unique integration of aquatic therapies and creative arts therapy to support regulation, connection, and emotional expression for children and families. Drawing on culturally responsive and trauma-informed frameworks, Carol and Nina will share insights into how play—both in water and through artistic mediums—can foster trust, communication, and wellbeing.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our work, connect with like-minded professionals, and contribute to the growing dialogue around neurodiversity and therapeutic play.
