Veteran focused Aquatic Therapy Programs officially commences in Term 2.
Veteran Aquatic Therapy – Two Programs for ADF Members and Their Families
With support from the ACT Government, WaterWombats is proud to introduce Veteran Aquatic Therapy, a specialised initiative designed for current and ex‑serving ADF members and their families. Commencing in Term 2, the program offers two distinct streams that promote physical recovery, emotional wellbeing and meaningful social connection.
Group Aqua Aerobics
A dynamic, low‑impact class that supports strength, mobility and cardiovascular fitness while reducing strain on joints and muscles. The group environment encourages camaraderie, routine and shared motivation, creating a positive space for veterans and families to stay active together.
WATSU – Individual Warm‑Water Therapy
WATSU (water shiatsu) is delivered as a one‑to‑one therapeutic session in warm water. Participants are gently supported and guided through slow, rhythmic movements that promote deep relaxation, pain relief, improved mobility and nervous‑system regulation. This individual format is ideal for those seeking a calmer, restorative approach to healing, especially for managing stress, trauma, chronic pain or sensory overload.
